About Us

We’re the proud founders of Avocado & Spice ☺.  I guess you’re here because you want to know a bit about us. Correct? Whilst we’re far more comfortable immersing ourselves in our notebooks, we’ll give it our best shot!  Ben, the son of a boat builder, grew up on the coast and from an early age dreamt of navigating the seven seas.  Hannah on the other hand couldn’t have grown up any further away from the sea, and like Ben discovered her love for travel from an early age.  In fact, it was in south east Asia that the couple meet. Since then, they have found that their love for travel has taken them to the four corners of world, documenting their adventures every step of the way. But one thing became apparent - they struggled to find quality journals that would stand the test of time. To answer their own problems, Avocado & Spice was born. Fast forwards and Avocado & Spice has grown into a brand that symbolises uncompromised quality, with roots embedded in the leafy suburbs of Hampstead (London) where the couple live as well as the many countries each and every one of the passionately crafted journals has ventured.

We’re proud to use completely vegan friendly products, which means that no animals are harmed in the making of our notebooks! And we’re not just talking about the faux leather covers, but the interiors too!

We only use water based adhesives in production, where others opt for animal based.. Water-based adhesives are also more environmentally sound, which is often a benefit when working with paper, fabric, wood, and construction projects.

We use 100% acid-free bamboo fibre paper, which doesn’t compromise on quality, but comes from a completely sustainable source. Each page is of 120gsm coated cream fountain pen-friendly paper with a total of 100 sheets or 200 pages. And better still, our notebooks open completely flat!

If you continue to have problems, try sending a ‘forgotten password’ reminder to your email address to ensure you have the correct email and password for signing in. Once the order is dispatched from our warehouse you will be contacted via email confirming your shipping details. You can also track the status of your order in the Order History section of your account. 

Once you have placed your order, it is not possible to change the delivery address. In the event that the delivery fails, your order will be returned to our warehouse and you will be reimbursed.

Please note orders are typically processed within 2-3 working days. Delivery times are dependent on the carrier and shipping method. If you have any further questions or are experiencing delays with the delivery of your order, please contact Customer Support. 

In this instance, please contact Customer Support. They will help organise a return shipment of the incorrect product and help you re-order your desired product. 

Deliveries can sometimes be subject to delays. Please contact Customer Support if you believe there is a problem. 

You can pay via all major credit card providers (Visa, Mastercard, American Express)

Returns and Refunds

Before refunding any order, we must first check the condition of the returned product. Refunds are made within 14 days if the product meets our return standards. 

We aim for all of our products to meet our high standards. If something is wrong, please contact Customer Support and they will deal with your issue immediately.

If your order has already been shipped, we invite you to wait until it arrives and then to contact Customer Support to request its return. We inform you that, once confirmed, your order cannot be deleted.

Once your item has been returned to our warehouse, we will aim to process your return within 3 business days, although delays are possible if we have a high volume of products to process. We ask for your patience in this issue. 

We hope you love your notebook as soon as it arrives, but sometimes this is not the case. In the event that you would like to return your order, please contact Customer Support where they will guide you through the process of return shipping and refunds.
